Christof Knop joined VMCap in 2008 as Investment Manager.
Before joining VMCap, he worked as a Principal for BC Partners in Hamburg on a variety of buyout transactions in the healthcare, industrial goods and retail industries. Prior to BC Partners, Christof was employed for 6 years by Bain & Company in Europe and the USA. As Case Team Leader he managed projects in the industrial, healthcare and private equity sectors covering a broad range of topics including international growth as well as operational improvement strategies. As member of Bain & Company’s dedicated private equity practice he worked on various buy-out transactions, value enhancement and post merger integration projects. Other professional experiences include periods at Goldman Sachs, Mercedes Benz and Bertelsmann in Germany, Spain and China.
Christof studied business administration in Germany, Mexico and the USA.He received a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School and a German business degree (Diplom-Kaufmann) from WHU, Otto Beisheim School of Management. He fluently speaks German, English and Spanish.
