Ventizz Capital Partners Acquires CardFactory AG, a Leading Manufacturer of Smart Cards

Ventizz Capital Partners Advisory AG announces the acquisition of a majority position in CardFactory AG, a leading manufacturer of smart cards by Ventizz Capital Fund III, L.P.. The previous shareholders – a consortium headed by Business Angels Dr. Cornelius Boersch and Friedrich von Diest – sold all of their shares in CardFactory AG.
CardFactory AG, located in Oldenburg/North Germany, was founded in 2000 as a holding for the operating subsidiaries Novacard GmbH (Oldenburg, Germany), Novacard do Brasil Ltda. and Utility do Nordeste S.A. (Campinas and Ilheus, Brasil) and Hellenic Smart Card Corporation S.A. (Athens, Greece) with a total of 140 employees. CardFactory AG is an innovative manufacturer of high-tech smart cards, it is a technological market leader in biometric cards and the owner a significant IP-portfolio with several patents. CardFactory AG combines own technologies and know-how with standard components of well-known suppliers. It has therefore the ability to offer a wide choice of products adapted to the customers´needs. The product range comprises contact, contactless and multi-functional chip cards.
