CardFactory AG acquires leading card manufacturer - PPC Card Systems GmbH

Oldenburg, 01. November 2006 – CardFactory AG announces the acquisition of 100% of the shares of a manufacturer of card and services solutions in the banking sector - PPC Card Systems GmbH. The only previous shareholder Eppe-Drescher Beteiligungsverwaltung GmbH continues to operate a strategy of focusing on its core competences with the sale and intends to further enforce its strengths in the area of printing and document management with the proceeds. For the support of current as well as of potential joint customers, a written agreement was entered for a close co-operation.
PPC Card Systems with manufacturing sites in Paderborn, Germany, and Groningen, Netherlands, will be serving as an independent competence partner within the CardFactory group with high continuity in terms of the management, of the product range, and of the services offered. The locations Paderborn and Groningen shall continuously get expanded.
CardFactory AG based in Oldenburg, Germany, was established with in total 120 employees in 2000 as a holding company for its operating subsidiaries Novacard Informationssysteme GmbH (Oldenburg, Germany) and Hellenic Smart Card Corporation S.A. (Athens, Greece). The major share of the CardFactory group is being owned by Ventizz Capital Fund III Holding Company LL.C.
The group is an innovative manufacturer of RFID and multifunctional identification media. RFID and multifunctional identification media play a significant role for highly developed applications and assure a secure communication and co-operation of people, companies, and organisations.
Through the integration of PPC Card Systems GmbH a unique concentration of know-how and competence is being created.
