Ventizz reinforces team with a new investment professional

The private equity company Ventizz Capital Partners has once again won a very promising investment professional for its team. In future, Christian Sarwa will support Ventizz Private Equity AG in St. Gallen/Switzerland. This means the group has now 13 investment professionals at its Düsseldorf (Ventizz Capital Partners Advisory AG) and St. Gallen (Ventizz Private Equity AG) offices. The companies exclusively advise the private equity funds Ventizz Capital Fund I-IV L.P. with a total fund volume of EUR 675 million.

Before joining Ventizz, Christian Sarwa, who has both a German and a Swiss citizenship, was employed by NBGI Private Equity as an investment manager for their London and Zürich office. At NBGI he managed a private equity/venture capital fund specializing in European technology investments with a total volume of EUR 90 million. In addition, Christian Sarwa was a member of the Supervisory Board of two portfolio companies in the medical technology sector. Prior to NBGI he worked as a consultant with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He graduated in materials engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and gained his Master of Business Administration at the London Business School.

The company already hired two new investment professionals in October 2008. In the future, Mr. Sarwa's tasks will include the assessment of strong growing high-tech companies, in particular from Switzerland and the adjacent markets and the review how these companies' growth can be accelerated by injecting capital and providing management support. "Our current fourth Ventizz fund generation is currently in the investment phase. We aim to acquire majority interests in attractive high-tech companies with proven business models and strong opportunities for growth. We are particularly interested in renewable energy. For example, right now we are looking for companies in the wind and solar power segments," added Dr. Vorndran.

The private equity funds that Ventizz advises primarily invest in small and medium-sized high-growth companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The investment focus is on the renewable energy segment, medical technology, information and communication technology and other branches of in the manufacturing sector which offer high value added, such as semiconductors and electronics.

Ventizz Capital Partners was formed in 2000 and has offices in St. Gallen and Düsseldorf. The company exclusively advises private equity funds that mostly offer equity capital for the growth of high-tech companies in the German-speaking region. Ventizz has three partners: Dr. Helmut Vorndran, Reinhard Löchner and Willi Mannheims. Together with a team of 13 professionals they currently advise four funds with capital totaling EUR 675 million. Ventizz Capital Fund IV L.P. is the largest of the four funds set up to date. After six months of fund-raising, this fund was closed at the end of 2007 with a volume of EUR 450 million and is thus one of the largest private equity funds for venture capital and medium-sized tech buy outs in the German-speaking region.

To date, Ventizz has invested in 29 companies focusing on renewable energy, medical technology, information and communication technology and on other branches of industry offering high value-added. In addition to a large number of trade sales, Ventizz has successfully placed three of its participating interests (ersol, SAF, PV Crystalox Solar) on the stock exchange.
