November 27, 2009
Ventizz Capital Partners has added two more professionals to its newly formed subsidiary Ventizz Management Consulting AG (St. Gallen/Switzerland), which is already operating successfully. The two consulting experts Dr. Bernd Loeser and Marc Beermann recently started supporting Guido Bollue’s team in increasing value at the portfolio companies.
The Swiss-German Dr. Bernd Loeser became a Director with Ventizz Management Consulting AG in mid-October. He is a specialist for strategy, M&A, operations and internationalization and advises Ventizz portfolio companies on their growth and operating improvement processes. Over the past twelve years, Dr. Loeser was employed by leading international management consultancies, most recently as a Principal with The Boston Consulting Group in Zurich. In this position he was a member of the management team and responsible for the local business in the “Operation” segment. He graduated in economic engineering from the Technical University in Karlsruhe, and gained his doctorate in technology management from the University of St. Gallen.
In addition, Marc Beermann also joined the team of Ventizz Management Consulting at the start of November 2009 as Manager. He was previously employed as a consultant with the global strategy consultants Bain & Company, and was with Hewlett-Packard at its European headquarters in Zurich and Geneva where he was responsible for implementing marketing campaigns throughout Europe. He also has experience as a company founder. Mr. Beermann studied business administration and economics in Chicago, St. Gallen and Geneva, and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Chicago).
“We are very pleased that we have been able to acquire two tried-and-trusted experts for our consulting firm in the form of Dr. Bernd Loeser and Marc Beermann. Their experience and expertise will seriously boost growth at the Ventizz portfolio companies, and they will successfully assist these companies’ managers in optimizing processes and structures,” commented Dr. Helmut Vorndran, CEO and Managing Partner at Ventizz Capital Partners.
The Ventizz private equity funds acquire interests in technology-oriented companies in German-speaking and European regions, act as strategic and operational growth drivers and sell the companies at a profit after an average of five to seven years. At present the funds manage 14 active participating interests and boost their growth at several levels: in addition to providing capital for necessary investments, the Ventizz funds generally pursue a buy and build strategy, supporting the respective management teams in making suitable add-on acquisitions. The consulting company was formed at the start of 2009 and its activities include supporting management teams when entering new markets, consulting when working out future-proof strategies and execution concepts, further developing business models, and providing competent support with ground-breaking corporate decisions.
Ventizz Capital Partners was formed in 2000 and has offices in St. Gallen and Düsseldorf. Ventizz Capital Partners exclusively advises the Ventizz private equity funds that offer equity capital for the growth of high-tech companies in the German-speaking region. Ventizz has three partners: Dr. Helmut Vorndran, Reinhard Löchner and Willi Mannheims. Together with a team of 17 professionals they currently advise four funds with capital under management totaling EUR 675 million. Ventizz Capital Fund IV L.P. is the largest of the four funds set up to date. After six months of fund-raising, this fund was closed at the end of 2007 with a volume of EUR 450 million and is thus one of the largest private equity funds for venture capital and medium-sized tech buy outs in the German-speaking region.
To date, Ventizz funds have invested in 31 companies focusing on renewable energy, medical technology, information and communication technology and on other branches of industry offering high value-added. In addition to a large number of trade sales, Ventizz has successfully placed three of its participating interests (ersol, SAF, PV Crystalox Solar) on the stock exchange.
